California Forever’s Solano Foundry: A New Hub for Advanced Tech Manufacturing

California Forever, the ambitious project backed by Silicon Valley billionaires to build a ‘utopian’ city, has unveiled plans for a large-scale tech manufacturing park named Solano Foundry. Situated on a 2,100-acre site in Solano County, roughly 40 miles northeast of San Francisco, the park is expected to host 40 million square feet of advanced manufacturing space. The facility will be integrated into a master-planned city with over 175,000 homes, aiming to attract a highly skilled workforce in hardware, engineering, and AI fields. CEO Jan Sramek emphasized that the city’s infrastructure would offer expedited permitting, renewable energy, and accessible transportation options to ensure its competitiveness. The project’s goal is to address the challenge of attracting top talent to remote manufacturing locations by providing a walkable city environment and superior logistical advantages. The Solano Foundry is expected to drive innovation and support U.S. manufacturing by focusing on long-term sustainability and modern industrial practices.
