VSCO’s iPhone Camera App Capture Expands to Global Market

VSCO, the popular photo editing and sharing app, has made its iOS camera app, Capture, available worldwide after a limited launch in Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand in June 2025. Capture is VSCO’s first new app in over a decade, offering more than 50 presets and real-time effects for photos. It provides manual control over camera settings like shutter speed and exposure and supports RAW and ProRAW formats. Additionally, all photos can be synced with VSCO’s cloud service. VSCO also announced the acquisition of The Freelance Photographer, an educational platform aimed at emerging photography professionals. The platform offers online and offline workshops to help photographers build sustainable client relationships and enhance their skills. The acquisition aligns with VSCO’s goal of expanding its offerings for professional photographers, complementing its previous initiatives like VSCO Hub and VSCO Sites. The Freelance Photographer offers subscription plans, including a basic coaching plan for $208 per month and a premium package at $625 per month, which includes personal mentoring and access to more than 50 tools and courses. With the global launch of Capture and this strategic acquisition, VSCO continues to position itself as a key player in the professional photography space.
