Apple Confirms watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and HomePod 26 Compatibility with All Currently Supported Devices

Apple is preparing to unveil its next major software updates, including watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and HomePod 26. A new leak indicates that all devices compatible with last year’s software updates will continue to be supported this year. This means no Apple Watch, Apple TV, or HomePod model will be left behind, despite upcoming user interface redesigns and added features expected across platforms like iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26, and others.

According to information shared by MacRumors, watchOS 26 will be available for Apple Watch Series 6 through Series 10, both generations of the Apple Watch Ultra, and the Apple Watch SE 2. tvOS 26 will run on all Apple TV 4K models and the Apple TV HD. Likewise, HomePod 26 will be compatible with all HomePod and HomePod mini models. While newer features may be exclusive to the latest devices, the overall redesign and baseline improvements will be accessible across all supported models.

This continuity in support is a positive change for Apple users, especially in a year when some older iPhones, iPads, and Macs are expected to lose compatibility with the latest software. The strategy reflects Apple’s commitment to maintaining value for recent hardware purchases while rolling out significant UI changes and enhancements across its ecosystem.
