Wayve and Uber to Collaborate on Driverless Robotaxi Service in London Following UK Regulatory Acceleration

Wayve, a UK-based autonomous vehicle technology company, and Uber have announced plans to launch a fully driverless robotaxi service in London within the next few years. This initiative comes shortly after the UK government revealed it would expedite the rollout of commercial self-driving vehicle pilots, moving the timeline up to spring 2026 from late 2027 to attract more investment in autonomous technologies. While specific details such as the trial start date, fleet size, and manufacturing partners remain undisclosed, it is known that Wayve’s AI technology is slated for integration into Nissan vehicles.
