Rising RAM Prices Likely to Increase Device Costs in 2026

In early 2026, technology consumers may face higher prices for everyday devices like smartphones, laptops, and PCs due to a sharp rise in the cost of RAM, a key computer component. Once inexpensive, RAM prices have more than doubled since October 2025, driven by surging global demand from data centers supporting artificial intelligence systems. Experts predict that the shortage will persist into 2027, keeping device prices elevated throughout 2026.
