Garmin’s New Wireless Electric Motor Offers Hands-Free Control for Kayaks

Garmin has introduced its new Force Current electric trolling motor, which revolutionizes kayaking by allowing users to control their kayaks hands-free. The motor features wireless foot pedal controls that let anglers steer, throttle, and reverse without needing to use their hands. This hands-free functionality is particularly beneficial for fishing, as it enables users to maintain their grip on the fishing rod while navigating the kayak. The foot pedals are adjustable and wirelessly connect to the motor, eliminating the need for extra cables. The system includes various operational modes, such as single-pedal steering and zero-radius turning. Additionally, users can control the motor with a wireless remote, which includes gesture-based steering. Garmin’s Force Current also includes advanced features like an anchor lock, which keeps the kayak in place despite wind or current, using GPS to counteract unwanted movement. The motor comes with two types of propellers: one for efficiency and another for weed cutting. Garmin has priced the motor at $3,599.99 with the foot pedals and $2,999.99 without.
