Last Chance to Secure Your Windows 10 PC Before Support Ends

Windows 10, one of the most widely used operating systems, is about to reach its end of life in October 2025. With nearly 43% of PC users still running Windows 10, Microsoft is offering an extension to keep the system secure with the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program. This program, which runs until October 13, 2026, is designed to bridge the gap for users who can’t or don’t want to upgrade to Windows 11. While businesses can purchase additional years of updates, individual users can enroll in the ESU program for a $30 fee or for free by syncing their settings to OneDrive or redeeming 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points. To enroll, users need to ensure their device is running the latest version of Windows 10 (22H2). Although Microsoft is still rolling out the enrollment process, users are encouraged to act quickly before the deadline. The ESU program is a temporary solution, and Microsoft advises that users migrate to a supported platform for long-term security. With security vulnerabilities becoming a more pressing concern, this program provides a much-needed lifeline for users reluctant to switch to Windows 11.
