AirPods Pro 3 to Feature Health Sensors, Live Translation Delayed for Future Update

Apple’s upcoming AirPods Pro 3 are expected to introduce two key health-related features: in-ear temperature sensing and heart-rate monitoring. These additions align with Apple’s broader push to enhance AirPods as health accessories. The heart-rate sensor has already debuted in the Powerbeats Pro, confirming its inclusion in the new AirPods Pro. However, one much-anticipated feature, live translation, will not be ready for the initial release. Instead, it will be rolled out in a later software update. This translation feature, which was hinted at in the iOS 26 beta, will allow AirPods to seamlessly facilitate conversations between speakers of different languages. For example, an English speaker wearing the AirPods could converse with someone speaking Spanish, with the translation process being handled by the iPhone’s Translate app. Despite the delay of live translation, the inclusion of health features makes sense, as Apple has already added hearing health capabilities in previous models. The AirPods Pro 3 are expected to be unveiled alongside the iPhone 17 at Apple’s upcoming event on September 9, 2025. In addition to the health sensors, other expected improvements include design tweaks, audio enhancements, and a firmware update for all AirPods Pro models.
