AMD Unveils Radeon RX 7400: A Compact, Low-Power 43W GPU for OEM PCs

AMD has quietly introduced the Radeon RX 7400, a new GPU from its RDNA3 generation, though it has not made a public announcement regarding the model. The RX 7400 features a compact design with a power consumption of just 43W. This makes it an entry-level GPU suitable for OEM systems, but it is unlikely to be available for DIY enthusiasts. The card has a total of 1,792 cores, which is slightly fewer than the RX 7600’s 2,048 cores, but the memory capacity is the same at 8GB GDDR6. However, it has lower memory bandwidth due to slower 10.8 Gbps modules, compared to the RX 7600’s faster 18 Gbps modules. The GPU is currently only available in Dell’s Pro Tower series PCs, which also feature the latest Intel processors. While the RX 7400 could perform well with a higher power draw and faster memory, its current specifications limit its gaming potential, making it a better fit for basic computing tasks.
