Apple Unveils Major Software Updates and Liquid Glass Design Across Devices at WWDC 2025

At WWDC 2025, Apple introduced a sweeping ‘Liquid Glass’ design refresh, which will be implemented across iOS 26, MacOS (now named Tahoe), iPadOS, CarPlay, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro. The new design brings a modernized look and enhanced user experience to Apple’s ecosystem. Key software updates include a major overhaul of the iPhone’s Phone app, new multitasking and window management features for iPadOS, and an upgraded Spotlight on MacOS that now acts as a command center with Quick Keys and clipboard history. The Vision Pro headset receives support for PlayStation VR controllers and improved Spatial Personas, while Apple TV gains a karaoke mode allowing iPhones to be used as microphones. Apple Intelligence, the company’s AI platform, is now more integrated, offering features like screenshot scanning and improved photo depth effects. Notably, iOS 26 will only be available for iPhone 11 and newer models, dropping support for the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR. The Files app on iPadOS is enhanced with more customization and default app selection. Public beta releases for these updates are scheduled for July, with full launches expected in the fall. The event concluded with a lighthearted musical tribute to app developers, emphasizing Apple’s continued focus on a unified ecosystem experience.
