Lenovo’s Sustainable Innovation Strategy in Mexico Focuses on Circular Economy and AI

On October 28, 2025, Lenovo presented its responsible innovation strategy to Mexican legislators at a climate change and sustainability forum. The company highlighted its Monterrey plant as a global model for sustainability and digital transformation. Lenovo is committed to reducing its environmental impact by incorporating recycled materials like aluminum, magnesium, plastic, and carbon fiber in its products. The company has also implemented biodegradable and plastic-free packaging. Their holistic approach covers the entire product lifecycle, including recycling programs, energy optimization, and a shift to renewable energy. The Monterrey plant has significantly reduced carbon emissions by 30% through digital technologies such as AI and generative AI. Lenovo is aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative, aiming for net-zero emissions by 2050. Mexico plays a crucial role in Lenovo’s global supply chain, and the company believes that a circular economy model is achievable through innovation, technology, and collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors.
