Bluesky Unveils Attie, an AI Tool That Lets Users Create Personalized Information Feeds
The team behind social media platform Bluesky has announced that it is developing a new standalone application called Attie. Presented during the Atmosphere conference in Canada, Attie is designed as an AI-powered tool that allows users to create and manage their own algorithmic information feeds using natural language. This product runs on Bluesky’s AT Protocol (atpro), the same open protocol that powers the main platform, ensuring interoperability across apps and services.
According to a report by TechCrunch, Attie uses Anthropic’s Claude AI model to understand user preferences and activity. Once logged in using an Atmosphere or Bluesky account, Attie can access open data networks to analyze what topics a person has been discussing and what types of content they enjoy. Users can then prompt Attie to collect and organize feeds not just from Bluesky, but also from other compatible networks.
Bluesky’s interim CEO, Toni Schneider, emphasized that Attie is meant to make feed customization accessible to everyone, even users without technical skills. The goal, he explained, is for people to control their content experience while contributing to a broader, people-focused ecosystem built on the Atmosphere platform. Initial beta testing of Attie will be done by attendees at the Atmosphere conference, marking the early stage of Bluesky’s expansion into user-curated AI tools.
