Canon has officially announced the RF 14mm f/1.4L VCM, a groundbreaking ultra-wide prime lens for its RF-mount system, marking the latest addition to the f/1.4 L-series VCM lineup that includes 85mm, 50mm, 35mm, 24mm, and 20mm models. This lens stands out as Canon’s brightest ultra-wide-angle interchangeable lens ever, featuring an f/1.4 maximum aperture for exceptional low-light performance, ideal for astrophotography, landscapes, architecture, and video applications. It incorporates advanced optical technology, including 18 elements in 13 groups with one fluorite element (a first for Canon’s ultra-wide primes), one UD, one BR organic resin layer, three glass-molded aspherical elements, plus SWC and ASC coatings to minimize aberrations, ghosting, and flare.
