Apple Wallet to support car keys for 13 new vehicle brands
Apple has announced that 13 new vehicle brands will soon integrate car key functionality into the Apple Wallet app. This feature, introduced in 2020, allows users to unlock and start their cars using their iPhone or Apple Watch. Some brands already support the feature, with varying levels of functionality such as passive entry, proximity features, and remote control. The new additions include well-known brands like Acura, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and Porsche, among others. While Apple has not provided a specific release date, the update is expected before the end of the year, in time for iOS 26. This expansion means that by the end of 2025, a total of 33 vehicle brands will support the car key feature within Apple Wallet. This move aligns with Apple’s long-term goal of replacing physical wallets and keys with digital equivalents, providing users with more convenience and enhanced security.
