Dell Launches Unified Private Cloud Platform Supporting VMware, Nutanix, and Red Hat
Dell has introduced a new private cloud solution aimed at simplifying the deployment and management of multi-vendor infrastructure stacks. The offering, unveiled at Dell Technologies World 2025, allows enterprises to build private clouds using software from VMware (vSphere only), Nutanix, and Red Hat, all on a common Dell hardware platform. It operates via a subscription model and features ‘validated blueprints’ for rapid deployment on existing Dell infrastructure. Although the individual software stacks cannot run on the same physical node, they can coexist across a server fleet with unified management capabilities. Dell claims the process to create new environments is up to 90 percent faster than traditional methods, with deployment times as short as 2.5 hours, thanks to its new Dell Automation Platform.
This initiative targets both data center and edge deployments, with added tools for load balancing, snapshots, backups, and VM migrations. Notably, the edge capabilities can also work on non-Dell hardware. The platform signifies Dell’s move towards ‘disaggregated infrastructure,’ a more flexible, modular approach. At the same event, Dell introduced new AI-optimized servers, advanced cooling solutions like the PowerCool heat exchanger, and a high-performance laptop featuring 32 AI cores, showcasing its broader push into AI and infrastructure modernization.
