Xiaomi Begins Rolling Out HyperOS 2.2 Stable Update to 12 Flagship Devices in China

Xiaomi has officially begun the rollout of its HyperOS 2.2 Stable update, targeting twelve flagship-tier devices in China. While a global release is expected soon, the current update is based on build version OS2.0.201.0. HyperOS 2.2 aims to refine the user experience with smoother system animations, enhanced battery management, and improved cross-device integration. It also introduces new AI-powered camera features, an updated notification panel, and the debut of Camera 6.0 with a redesigned UI.

Though a complete changelog is pending, expected at Xiaomi’s May 22 event, early impressions suggest the update provides noticeable but not radical improvements. Among the first devices to receive the update are the Xiaomi 14/14 Pro/14 Ultra, Xiaomi 15/15 Pro/15 Ultra, Redmi K70/K70E, POCO F6 Pro/X6 Pro, and select mid-range models including the POCO F7 and Redmi Turbo 4 Pro. The update is expected to be staggered, and users are advised to check manually under Settings > About Phone > System Update.

While early testers report better performance and modest battery life improvements, Xiaomi users are encouraged to back up their data before proceeding. There’s also curiosity around whether AI features will be limited to Chinese models, a pattern seen in past updates. More details are expected during the upcoming launch event.
