ElevenLabs Launches Mobile App for Generating AI-Powered Voice Clips
ElevenLabs, a company specializing in voice AI, has introduced a new standalone mobile app for iOS and Android, enabling users to generate voice clips from text. Previously, users could only access the company’s AI-powered voice libraries via a web app. With the new mobile app, users can now generate voice samples on the go by simply typing or pasting text and selecting a voice model. The app offers a free plan that includes up to 10 minutes of audio generation. Users can also select different models to balance cost and quality, with a shared credit system between the mobile and web app. Additionally, the app provides access to ElevenLabs’ v3 alpha text-to-speech models, allowing for greater control over the expressions in the generated voices through tags. The company’s mobile growth lead, Jack McDermott, noted that many creators have been using web browsers on mobile devices to generate voice samples for videos on platforms like Instagram and CapCut, which led ElevenLabs to create a more intuitive and powerful native experience. With this move, the company joins the competitive landscape of voice cloning and generation tools, including Speechify and Captions. ElevenLabs plans to expand its offerings in the future, adding features like speech-to-text and a conversational AI tool.
