Global Digital Week 2025 solidifies Mexico as a hub for responsible technology innovation
Global Digital Week 2025, held from October 28–30 in Mexico City and online, highlighted Mexico’s emergence as a regional leader in ethical and sustainable digital transformation. Organized by the Global Institute for Digital Competitiveness (GIDCOMP), the hybrid event brought together business leaders, experts, and international organizations including Siemens, Google, Telefónica Movistar, LG, COPARMEX, and the UN. The conference showcased disruptive solutions such as artificial intelligence, real-time data analytics, and digital identity platforms designed to create agile and secure organizations. LG showcased its smart-work technologies in an exhibit at an automation-friendly showroom in the State of Mexico. The second day emphasized Marketing Technology and the use of generative AI through platforms like Gemini to enhance hyper-personalization and omnichannel engagement. On the final day, discussions focused on building a responsible digital ecosystem, with participants from HP, Telefónica, Siemens, UNICEF, and IDOM presenting environmental, ethical, and digital inclusion initiatives. Siemens introduced the Degree model, integrating decarbonization, ethics, governance, and equity for a sustainable future. The event concluded with a networking cocktail that facilitated collaboration among government, business, academia, and civil society, underscoring the need for cohesive ecosystems. The overall message was that digital transformation in Mexico is advancing with social and environmental responsibility, reinforcing regional leadership and the creation of an inclusive, sustainable digital economy.
