Snapseed 3.0 Brings Major Redesign and New Features to iOS Devices
Google has released version 3.0 of its photo editing app Snapseed, marking the first significant update to the app in several years. This update is currently exclusive to iPhone and iPad users, bringing a refreshed interface and a few new features. Snapseed, originally an iOS-only app before Google acquired it in 2012, now includes a redesigned layout with a more intuitive navigation system. The ‘Faves’ feature has been added to the center of the bottom toolbar, allowing users to save their favorite tools, while the ‘Export’ function has moved to the top-right corner and been replaced by a ‘Tools’ button on the right side of the toolbar. The ‘Looks’ tab remains on the left. The update also includes new vintage filters and enhancements for editing both RAW and JPG files. While Snapseed remains popular among mobile photo editors, the update is not yet available for Android, and Google has not provided a timeline for its release on that platform. A Google spokesperson emphasized the goal of modernizing the app and enhancing its usability, particularly for long-time users. The update reflects Google’s continued interest in maintaining Snapseed’s relevance in a competitive photo editing landscape.
