Google expands Pixel ‘At a Glance’ with sports scores, birthday reminders, and more features

Google is currently developing a significant update for the ‘At a Glance’ feature on its Pixel devices, offering users new levels of convenience directly on their home and lock screens. Discovered in the first release of Android Canary, this update represents one of the most robust revisions to the feature to date. Among the upcoming enhancements are new cards for live sports scores and birthday reminders. These elements will be integrated into a swipeable interface on the home screen and are also planned for inclusion on the lock screen and the always-on display (AOD). The visual elements of the cards dynamically adjust to match the clock display.

This functionality appears to be a continuation of the previously identified “Gemini Space” concept, now formally integrated into At a Glance. Past leaks linked to this initiative also hinted at future features like financial information and Daily Hub suggestions, potentially designed to rival Samsung’s Now Brief. However, despite being visible in the early Canary build, these new features are not enabled by default, making it unclear when they will become mainstream. They are likely to debut with the upcoming Pixel 10 or as part of Android 16’s official release. Google continues to experiment with related visual and functional updates in the Android 16 QPR1 beta, indicating a broader strategy for enhancing user experience through contextual information.
