HONOR Magic V5 to Launch in China on July 2 with AI Upgrades and Ultra-Thin Design

HONOR has officially announced that its latest foldable smartphone, the Magic V5, will launch in China on July 2, 2025. The announcement was made by HONOR CEO James Li at MWC Shanghai. The Magic V5 is being marketed as the company’s most advanced foldable phone to date, combining artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities with an ultra-slim form factor. In fact, HONOR is aiming to reclaim the title of ‘world’s thinnest foldable smartphone,’ following in the footsteps of the Magic V2 and Magic V3. Currently, the title is held by OPPO’s Find N5.

The Magic V5 is set to feature powerful on-device AI functionality, enabling improved user experiences and productivity tools. HONOR is emphasizing the device’s ability to deliver ‘PC-level productivity’ in a portable design, targeting both consumers and professionals. The company positions the Magic V5 as a direct competitor to Samsung’s expected Galaxy Z Fold7, aiming to offer a strong alternative in the high-end foldable market segment.

While detailed specifications are still under wraps, HONOR has promised to reveal more information closer to the launch date. The Magic V5 reflects HONOR’s strategic focus on intelligent, design-forward foldables that aim to push industry boundaries in both hardware and software.
