Honor Plans Dual 200MP Camera Flagship for 2025
Honor is reportedly working on a flagship smartphone that could feature two 200-megapixel cameras, marking a potential first in the mobile industry. This leak, shared by well-known tipster Fixed Focus Digital, suggests that the device might be the Honor Magic 8 Ultra. The company, known for pushing boundaries in mobile imaging, aims to compete with other heavyweights like Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra and Xiaomi 16 Ultra. The rumored dual-camera setup is expected to combine a wide-angle main sensor and a periscope telephoto lens, allowing for improved zoom and clarity. Although the exact sensor specifications are not yet revealed, the periscope camera is expected to feature optical zoom, possibly reaching 100x AI-assisted digital zoom. The device could debut alongside other Honor Magic 8 series phones in October or in a separate event later in the year. Honor’s focus is on enhancing hardware features that AI can complement, but not replace, which aligns with its goal of dominating mobile imaging within the next three years. If these rumors hold true, the dual 200MP setup could revolutionize smartphone photography and push competitors to rethink their camera strategies.
