India’s Role in Shaping the Future of 5G, AI, IoT, and Cybersecurity

India is positioning itself to lead the next wave of technological advancements in the fields of 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and cybersecurity, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In a recent statement, Modi praised the country’s strides in expanding affordable broadband and revolutionizing digital payments with UPI (Unified Payments Interface), emphasizing that these milestones have become global benchmarks. He added that India is set to continue setting new global standards in digital infrastructure, making significant contributions to the digital economy worldwide. PM Modi’s remarks were supported by Union Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, who noted that India’s progress in digital governance, affordable broadband, and UPI are now recognized globally as successful case studies. Scindia also highlighted the importance of collaborations with global tech giants like Ericsson, Qualcomm, Cisco, and Nokia, aiming to train and equip India’s youth with the skills needed for emerging technologies. Key initiatives like Digital India, Skill India, and Make in India will empower students, professionals, and public sector employees with training in 5G, AI, IoT, and cybersecurity. Notable collaborations include a 5G Centre of Excellence established by Ericsson at the Bharat Ratna Bhim Rao Ambedkar Institute of Telecom Training in Jabalpur, offering hands-on training in cutting-edge technologies. These efforts are expected to position India as a global leader in telecom and digital innovation.
