Intel Releases New GPU Drivers Enhancing Laptop Gaming Performance by Up to 25%
Intel has announced a new update to its graphics driver (version 32.0.101.6734) that promises significant performance improvements for its integrated Arc 130V and 140V GPUs, which are part of the Lunar Lake-based Core Ultra 200V series of laptop processors. These chips are unique in Intel’s lineup due to their integration of memory into the CPU package and the inclusion of a neural processing unit meeting Microsoft’s Copilot+ requirements. The company claims the driver update boosts average gaming frame rates by around 10% and improves the lowest 1% frame rates—which indicate performance dips—by as much as 25%, aiming to reduce noticeable stuttering during gameplay. Testing was conducted using an MSI Claw 7 AI+ with the Arc 140V GPU, comparing this new version to one released earlier in April. Although these improvements are geared toward low-power devices (around 17W), the update is available for a broader range of Intel GPUs, including Arc A- and B-series desktop and mobile GPUs, as well as integrated graphics from 11th-gen Core CPUs onward. However, Intel advises laptop users to wait for manufacturer-validated versions to avoid possible stability issues. These optimizations are not expected to have the same impact on higher-power desktop GPUs.
