Performance Benchmark Reveals M5 Chip’s Strength in 14-Inch MacBook Pro

The first benchmark results for Apple’s M5 chip in the 14-inch MacBook Pro have surfaced, showing remarkable CPU performance. The M5 achieved a single-core score of 4,263 on Geekbench 6, the highest ever recorded for any Mac or PC processor, highlighting its strong single-core capabilities. With a 10-core CPU consisting of four performance cores and six efficiency cores, the M5’s multi-core score reached 17,862, making it up to 20% faster than the previous generation’s M4 chip. Comparisons show that the M5 chip outperforms the M3 Pro and nearly matches the M1 Ultra in multi-core tasks. Additional updates include higher SSD speeds and increased storage options for the base 14-inch model. Higher-end models with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips are expected to launch in early 2026.
