Google Clock and Pixel Watch App Receive Material 3 Expressive Redesign with New Features
Google has started rolling out the Material 3 Expressive redesign for the Google Clock app, Pixel Watch, and several other Pixel apps. The update brings a fresh visual overhaul with key improvements in navigation and user interaction. The bottom bar has been shortened, and icons now feature an outline design that changes once they are selected. The Alarms and Timers tabs have been renamed to make them more intuitive, and there’s a new, brighter background to indicate active alarms. Customization options are now accessed through a sheet, replacing the previous inline controls. The Stopwatch function has undergone a major redesign with large buttons for Stop, Reset, and Lap, and lap times are now displayed in cards rather than a list. The World Clock and Timers sections have been tweaked with a new font and a square floating action button (FAB), but the Bedtime tab and home screen widgets remain unchanged. The redesign is also coming to the Pixel Screenshots app, with minor adjustments like a new rounded square FAB and updated image preview shapes. The Pixel Watch app has received straightforward updates with a more organized settings interface. This update is part of Google’s ongoing effort to bring Material 3 Expressive design elements to all Pixel devices, enhancing the overall aesthetic and user experience across its ecosystem.
