Samsung Ready for Mass Production of Exynos 2600 Chip for Galaxy S26, Overcoming Yield Issues
Samsung is reportedly preparing to begin mass production of its Exynos 2600 chipset, which is expected to power the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. This new processor marks Samsung’s first use of 2nm GAA (Gate-All-Around) technology, promising significant improvements in neural processing performance over previous generations. Earlier yield concerns, which had limited production efficiency, appear to have been resolved, enabling the company to move forward with large-scale manufacturing. To address historical overheating issues associated with Exynos chips, Samsung has incorporated Heat Pass Block (HPB) technology, which should help maintain optimal thermal performance. Preliminary Geekbench 6 results suggest that the Exynos 2600 can compete with an underclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, signaling that Samsung’s 2nm GAA process may rival TSMC’s upcoming 2nm technology. The Galaxy S26 series is likely to feature a mix of Snapdragon and Exynos models depending on the region, which could help Samsung reduce costs while enhancing its semiconductor independence.
