Coco Robotics Secures $80 Million to Expand Zero-Emission Delivery Robots and Data Partnership with OpenAI

Coco Robotics, a Los Angeles-based startup specializing in last-mile delivery robots, has announced an $80 million funding round, bringing its total capital raised to over $120 million. The round saw participation from returning angel investors Sam Altman and Max Altman, as well as venture capital firms such as Pelion Venture Partners and Offline Ventures. Founded in 2020 by Brad Squicciarini and Zach Rash, Coco has developed zero-emission robots capable of carrying up to 90 liters of goods. Since their launch, these robots have completed more than 500,000 deliveries, serving major national retailers including Subway, Wingstop, and Jack in the Box. Notably, Coco entered into a partnership with OpenAI in March, allowing the robotics company to leverage OpenAI’s technology while providing valuable real-world data from its delivery robots to train AI models. This symbiotic relationship highlights the growing integration of robotics and artificial intelligence in commercial logistics. The company’s focus on sustainability, efficiency, and partnerships with established brands positions it as a significant player in the evolving landscape of urban delivery solutions. Coco’s continued growth reflects broader trends in automation, clean technology, and AI-driven logistics innovation.13
