Spaceflux secures £5.4 million funding to expand satellite tracking capabilities
Spaceflux, a British space surveillance company, has raised £5.4 million in funding to enhance its satellite tracking technology. The investment round was led by the UK Innovation & Science Seed Fund (UKI2S), along with contributions from Foresight Group, Blackfinch Ventures, and Seraphim Space. Founded three years ago, Spaceflux uses artificial intelligence and optical sensors to track satellites and space debris across all orbits. The company has gained significant traction, securing government contracts with the UK Ministry of Defence and the UK Space Agency. The funding will support the expansion of Spaceflux’s global network of telescopes, enabling more efficient satellite monitoring, even during the daytime. As the demand for space situational awareness technologies increases, Spaceflux aims to reduce the risk of satellite collisions, helping to ensure a safer and more sustainable space environment. The investment highlights the growing importance of space surveillance and its role in national security and commercial space operations. Marco Rocchetto, CEO of Spaceflux, emphasized the need for better protection of space-based assets as the space environment becomes more congested. The company is well-positioned to scale and address the increasing complexities of space operations.
