Microsoft 365 Will Still Work on Windows 10 After October 2025, but With Limited Updates and Support
Microsoft will officially end support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025, which means no additional security patches or technical support for the operating system unless users pay for extended security updates. However, Microsoft 365 apps will continue to receive security updates on Windows 10 for three more years, until October 10, 2028, providing users extra time to upgrade. Individuals and families with Microsoft 365 subscriptions in the Current Channel will get feature updates until August 2026. For business users, the Monthly Enterprise Channel will receive updates until October 13, 2026, and those in the Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel until January 12, 2027. After these dates, only security updates will continue, and no new features will be introduced. Support for Microsoft 365 issues on Windows 10 will be limited after October 2025: if a problem is unique to Windows 10 and not present on Windows 11, Microsoft support will advise users to upgrade rather than offer fixes. Reporting bugs or requesting new product updates for Windows 10 will not be possible. This policy provides a temporary measure for users needing more time to upgrade but highlights that moving to Windows 11 is necessary for full support and future features.
