The WiiM Amp Pro, priced at £399/$379/AU$699, offers a budget-friendly alternative in the growing category of streaming amplifiers. With an integrated stereo amplifier and network streaming, it caters to music lovers seeking a smooth and accessible experience. The Amp Pro supports a wide range of streaming services, including Spotify, Tidal, and Qobuz, alongside Chromecast and internet radio. Its user-friendly interface simplifies music streaming, making it an excellent choice for those who prioritize ease of use. While it lacks certain features, such as AirPlay 2 support and a headphone socket, its performance is solid, delivering a clean, open, and dynamic sound. The WiiM Amp Pro pairs well with budget-friendly speakers like the Wharfedale Diamond 12.1, creating an affordable, high-quality hi-fi system under £650/$800/AU$1400. For those unable to afford premium options like the Technics SA-C600 or Naim Uniti Atom, the WiiM Amp Pro provides a highly competitive alternative without sacrificing much in terms of performance. Overall, it may not be perfect, but it’s the best-performing budget streaming amp currently available.
