Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra introduces built-in privacy display for enhanced mobile security
Samsung has launched the Galaxy S26 series, featuring the Galaxy S26 Ultra with a groundbreaking Privacy Display. This AI-powered innovation is the first of its kind globally, designed to protect personal information at a pixel level. Unlike traditional stick-on privacy filters that dim the screen, Samsung’s built-in Privacy Display keeps the screen bright and clear while reducing visibility from side angles. Users can activate privacy automatically when entering PINs or passwords, opening specific apps like banking or email, or even adjust levels for partial or maximum privacy. The feature adapts seamlessly to portrait and landscape modes, making it ideal for real-life scenarios such as commuting, working in cafes, or handling confidential messages in public spaces. In South Africa, where mobile phones are central to banking, work, and daily communication, this technology offers an extra layer of protection for sensitive information. The Galaxy S26 series is available for pre-order until 19 March 2026, with promotional offers including double storage and discounts of up to R5,000. Available colours are Cobalt Violet, White, Black, and Sky Blue, with retail prices starting from R20,999 for the base model up to R30,999 for the Ultra. Samsung’s latest innovation highlights the era of AI-driven mobile devices while prioritising user privacy in everyday life.
