Xiaomi Unveils XRING O1 Chip with 15S Pro Phone and Pad 7 Ultra Tablet
Xiaomi has introduced its first in-house system-on-chip (SoC), the XRING O1, marking a significant shift away from reliance on Qualcomm processors. Built on an advanced 3nm process, the XRING O1 features a 10-core CPU, a 16-core Immortalis GPU, and a 6-core Neural Processing Unit (NPU) aimed at enhancing AI capabilities in Xiaomi devices. The new chip will debut in the Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone and the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra tablet. The Xiaomi 15S Pro showcases a premium design with a fiberglass back and gold accents, or alternatively, carbon and aramid fiber panels. It houses a 6,100mAh battery and a 2K display capable of reaching 3,200 nits of brightness. The camera system, co-engineered with Leica, includes real-time HDR and AI-powered noise reduction, leveraging the chip’s NPU. The Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra is designed for productivity and entertainment with a 14-inch 3.2K OLED screen, up to 1,600 nits brightness, and a large 12,000mAh battery. Xiaomi estimates up to 19 hours of video playback and nearly 1.5 years in ultra-saving mode. Both devices run HyperOS 2 and support Xiaomi’s custom accessories. Pricing starts at 5499 RMB for both devices.
