Roku Introduces AI Voice Features and New Smart Projector for Enhanced Streaming

Roku has announced a series of updates for its streaming devices, focusing on improving user experience through AI enhancements and new hardware. The upgraded Roku Voice feature now incorporates artificial intelligence, allowing users to ask detailed questions about movies, shows, actors, or genres, such as ‘How scary is The Shining?’ or ‘What other movies feature this actor?’ This feature maintains conversational context for follow-up queries and will soon be available on all Roku devices via the Voice remote or mobile app. Additionally, Roku is introducing Bluetooth headphone support for its Streaming Stick and Streaming Stick Plus, enabling direct pairing without the mobile app. The Roku City screensaver gains interactive elements, including selectable marquees for exclusive content like a Demi Lovato performance. The Live TV Channel Guide and mobile app are also updated with new search bars, navigation improvements, and features like rating shows or setting reminders for sports events with live scores. Roku also launched a $198 Vankyo smart projector with 1080p resolution, auto keystone, and Bluetooth connectivity, available at Walmart. These updates, free for existing users, aim to enhance streaming convenience and personalization.
