Samsung to Reveal Tri-Fold Phone, XR Headset, and AI Smart Glasses at September 29 Event
Samsung is planning to showcase three of its most advanced devices at the third Unpacked event of 2025, scheduled for September 29 in South Korea. The company will reveal a next-generation tri-fold smartphone, the Project Moohan XR headset, and new AI-powered smart glasses. The tri-fold phone has been anticipated for months and was previewed at Mobile World Congress earlier this year. The Project Moohan headset, a collaboration with Google and Qualcomm, has also been teased and previously demonstrated at Google I/O. The new AI smart glasses, codenamed Project Haean, are an audio-focused device powered by Qualcomm’s AR1 chip and will likely run on Android XR. According to industry analysts, hosting a separate event for these experimental devices allows Samsung to focus on innovation without overshadowing existing high-volume products like the Fold7 and Flip7. Reports indicate that the XR headset will launch first in Korea on October 13, while the tri-fold phone and smart glasses are expected to release later in 2025, although the international availability of the glasses remains uncertain. This marks an unusual third Unpacked event within a single year, reflecting Samsung’s strategy to highlight its more experimental technologies and set the tone for Android XR adoption.
